What I’ve been up to recently

Hello everyone,

How are you? What have you been up to recently? For the past few months, I’ve been involved in rehearsing and performing in 2 huge local productions onstage, working (it’s the busy season here for 6 months of the year, tourist season) and meetings about future projects.

The first show, performed in July, is called “Worn Art Revamped: Poppy – Child of the Lane”. This is the 2nd installment in a 3 show trilogy. It involves creating costumes out of literally anything (for example plastic bags/shopping carrier bags), circus performing, dancing and voice overs. Bellow are some photos (photography by Steve Cutts Photography):

The second show, recently performed in September, was the annual Sandfly Circus show (including a solo Aerial Lyra/Aerial Hoop routine). No photos uploaded at the time of writing this entry.

Now that the busy season is trickling down, it’s time to focus on the other areas including updating my blog and other projects.

What have you done recently? What’s inspired you the most?

Thank you for reading and enjoy the new week ahead.

Happy World Circus Day 2016

Hey everyone,

How are you going? How is your weekend? Today is World Circus Day. Everyone around the world that is involved in the circus industry celebrate it by performing shows, photos, etc. The theme this year is Pyramids. Below is a photo of a group pyramid that the Sandfly Circus did for this year, before school holidays. I hope you like it, and yes I’m in it too.

Doctor Who and the 12 Apostles

A big hello to all my readers out there,

How are you? For those that are experiencing Encopresis, how are you all going there? I’ve recently returned home from my holiday in Melbourne.  The main reason for my trip was to attend the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular (thank you so much BBC). It was the first time I had ever attended one of those concerts, and it is definitely something I will do again in the future (including the BBC Proms). The whole atmosphere from watching the fans dress up in their favourite characters (including a child Dalek, a few TARDIS dresses and several Doctors), the cardboard cut outs, the few actual monsters on display…and the show itself at the venue.  For me it was an amazing experience. If the cut out of the Dalek is to scale, then it’s confirmed that the Daleks are taller than me. It is one thing to watch the Daleks on TV, but the whole atmosphere is different once they actually come on stage…very very cool. Peter Davison (5th Doctor) was hosting the concert this year, and it was wonderful to see Ben Foster in the flesh too. So many happy memories. I’m definitely heading in the right direction.

Another part of my adventure was going on a drive out of Melbourne, along the Australian coast, and see the 12 Apostles landmark (something I had always wanted to see). They really do look like what they do in the photos, but you don’t get the scale of how huge they are until you see them for real (a definite recommendation if you ever get the opportunity to visit the area). I couldn’t believe how many tourists were there too, it made me feel like I was the foreigner to this beautiful country.

Something else that happened. I took up the opportunity to have a go on a Flight Training Simulator (a proper simulator used for training pilots in the different areas required for the industry). Although I haven’t been professionally taught flying, the Instructor referred to me as a “Dark Horse” (this is good), and offered to give me my first flying lesson. I’m excited. If I can fly a plane, anyone in the Encopresis family (including battlers and fellow survivors) can do anything!

Now I am home, refreshed and excited for what may lay ahead this year for me. Big ideas. Take care everyone. Tell me, what plans or goals do you have for the year ahead?

Welcome to the new year of 2014

Hey to all my readers out there,

How are you? I hope you had a wonderful start to 2014. I apologise that I hadn’t posted on my blog recently, as I was away on holidays in Whistler (Canada) and unable to secure a stable internet connection.

What are your plans for this year? Any you wish to share? For those that are interested, I have registered with an acting master class workshop with Bobby Galinsky (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2646512/), thanks to Screen Actors Australia – Werribee (http://www.screenactors.com.au/). Something that I am very much looking forward to attending. Also I will be watching the Doctor Who Symphony Orchestra, in Melbourne. Very exciting. As well as my circus training/performing, I have the opportunity to act in another movie in America as well as the premier of “A Horse for Summer”.

My book and blog (as well as a few other Encopresis projects) haven’t been forgotten, so don’t worry about that I can’t wait to volunteer again at Feed the Little Children organisation (http://feedthelittlechildren.org.au/). I have big plans for this year. What are yours?

To make sure you stay up to date on what’s happening, and keep in contact, here are a few suggestions (please “Like” them too):

My Doctor Who Jingle Bells twist

Hey guys,

Hope you’re all getting ready for Christmas and enjoying the magic of Christmas. I thought I would share with you all my version of the traditional “Jingle Bells” Christmas carol with a Doctor Who twist. This is an original and was written in November 2007. Although I do not own the copyright to BBC Doctor Who nor to Jingle Bells, the lyrics of this particular version is MY copyright. Enjoy, and feel free to tell me what you think (it has been suggested that I sing it and make a video of it, thoughts??) 🙂

My “Jingle Bells” DOCTOR WHO twist (November 2007)
By Dimity

Chorus:
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
TARDIS is on her way.
Never fear when the Doctor’s here,
‘cause he will always save the day, yay!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
TARDIS is here to stay.
Never fear when the Doctor’s here,
‘cause he will always find a way.

First Verse:
When the Universe is in trouble, anytime and anywhere,
Then you will know, the Doctor will be there.
You can always count on him, to do the right thing,
There’s no doubt that he’ll figure it out as we all happily sing……..

Chorus:
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
TARDIS is on her way.
Exter-minate, Regen-erate and
De-letion too, hey!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
TARDIS is on her way.
The stars are bright, as they glisten in the night,
And there is always Time to play.

Second Verse:
If there’s something you should know,
Then come and listen to me.
When you believe in the Doctor,
You can do Anything.

Now know that this is true,
Doctor I believe in you,
Whenever there’s trouble, I’ll be there on the double,
As you can always count on me.

Chorus:
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
TARDIS is on her way,
Never fear when the Doctor’s here,
‘cause he’ll always save the day, yay!

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
TARDIS is here to stay,
Never fear when the Doctor’s near,
As he won’t be far away!

“A Horse for Summer” movie (share in the magic)

Hello to all my readers. How are you all? What have you been up to?

If you have ever wandered what it’s like to be on a movie set or to be involved (I definitely do),I know of an awesome opportunity. Nandar Entertainment are proud to present a family friendly movie (starring Dean Cain, Nicole Criss, Eric Roberts and many more). The official website for “A Horse for Summer” (previously named “Above The Bit”) is here: http://abovethebitmovie.com/wp/home-wts/ . There is an opportunity for you (my readers) to be involved in the movie from volunteering onset/be an extra to having a signed script from the cast, a private movie screening and many more great opportunities. All you have to do is make a pledge (however much you want) and share it around. Please. The link for the campaign is here: http://greenlightcrowdfunding.com/view/1/a-horse-for-summer-dean-cain-eric-roberts-sally-kirkland and is continuing until 3rd August 2013. I’m from Australia and I have pledged (I will also fly to America and be involved onset).

Even as a child with Encopresis, I always admired Dean Cain from the age of 7 years old when I first watched him as Kal El/Clark Kent/Superman in the television series, “Lois & Clark: The Adventures of Superman“. For me to have an active role in supporting a movie with him in it means a lot to me (and any possible opportunity to meet him is a dream come true for me). From a young age I always love performing onstage/offstage, writing and being onset (I have previously been an extra in 2 movies and season 1 & 2 of a mini series). I absolutely love the Film & Television industry and an opportunity like is for me is one I couldn’t refuse. But I need your help. By making a pledge (even if it’s $5) you too can be a part of the magic and enjoy the behind-the-scenes of a movie in production. With your help not only would my dreams come true (and this movie can be the best it can be), your child with Encopresis can live through life with confidence knowing that he/she isn’t alone and even someone with Enco can do amazing things. I’ve never forgotten you my readers. You are all in my heart. Please pledge and share it via the link: http://greenlightcrowdfunding.com/view/1/a-horse-for-summer-dean-cain-eric-roberts-sally-kirkland

Thank you xx
