Hi and welcome to my blog. I’m single, 36 years old and an Australian. For those that don’t know, I am an encopresis survivor. I had it, undiagnosed, until I was about 15 years old. There are many children and their families going through this but not many patients/survivors open up and share their experiences to help others understand it and prove that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I personally know what it feels like to have the physical pain of poop not coming out (no matter how hard I try), having suppositories and having NO pain/sensations/smelling senses to know what’s happening. I’m here to help and offer what I can, and more. I was constantly bullied at school, had no real friends, no social and no boyfriends…but I also never took drugs/smoke/drink alcohol. As a survivor I gave gained a lot more confidence in myself and my potential (especially since I finished school). I’m in the process of writing a book about my experiences, things I’ve learnt in my research and what other parents have shared to me about their experiences. I also have a youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/naturegirl015) that you’re welcome to visit (and share). Now I’m a local circus trainer/performer at the Sandfly Circus (including training to do aerials acts, something I would never have imagined myself doing when I had enco).
I’m also well travelled and have travelled around the world ever since I was 13 years old.
